Ronald Edwin Long

     Ronald Edwin Long, son of the late Cecil Long and Ellen Barham Long, was born on March 12, 1933 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on February 10, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 86 years.

     Mr. Long was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a former farm implement mechanic, specializing in Ford Tractors and he was a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church in Idalia, Missouri. 

     On December 23, 1956, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rose Marie Fairless.  Mrs. Long survives of their home in Dexter.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James Long and wife Jean of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter, Threasa White and husband Craig of Mena, Arkansas; by two sisters, Marilyn Wiggs of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Elizabeth Mueller of O’Fallon, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Nathan Long, Kelsey Long and Nicole McDaniel; and by five great-grandchildren.

     Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Arvil Long.

     Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.   Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jared Hancock officiating.  Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
